Aspen Ski Retreat

When we embarked on the collaborative effort with Poss Architecture and Workshop/APD to renovate and expand this property, we knew it wouldn’t be without its challenges. The cross-gable structure of the home created tight tolerances for our design, but the retention of its original character was paramount to our vision. Through intense collaboration with the designers, we transformed this West End 1880s miner’s cabin into a striking ski hideaway. The interior is bright and clean, while dark steel and marble accents create a bold contrast for this contemporary residence. Notable features of the home include sculpted Corian walls, a pullout breakfast bar from the island, an acoustically isolated guitar room, and an infrared sauna. This renovation project became a personal favorite, as the bold integration of thoughtful design pushed us to innovate in new ways.
