West End Victorian
West End Victorian
The design challenge for this historic West End Victorian home was how to incorporate a modern aesthetic within existing spaces and structural constraints. To enhance the reach of natural light throughout the home, and complement its original charm, we focused on the thoughtful use of tone and texture. Light wood tones complement the character of the foyer, while Taj Mahal quartzite serves as a bold focal point in the kitchen. A sculptural staircase alludes to the clean aesthetic of the upper level, where sharp angles contrast an otherwise open sense of space. A sunroom and balcony extend from the master bedroom, inviting the owners to embrace a moment of pause. The result of our consideration is an inviting home that offers a luxurious retreat from daily life and pays homage to the enduring legacy of Aspen.
